Serving Others
For Neal & Bev
Parents night at school. (also for Zachary & Jack)
For Uncle Kyle
Dog Wit & Wisdom
Experience is what you get when you were expecting something else.
Experience is being able to recognize a mistake when you do it again.
Remember - At the feast of ego, everyone leaves hungry.
Question of the week.
If Elvis was such a great man, why is he buried in the backyard like a hamster?

Sometimes I Hate My Job
from - Teen Daily Devotional Ministry
By: Brooke Macrimailto:Macrimailing@tddm.org
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men... Ephesians 6:7
I'm a server at a local restaurant. It’s an okay job I supposed, just like any other job, good points and some bad points. But I can honestly say that sometimes I hate my job with such a passion, I feel like just quitting. You have to serve all kinds of people, on a daily basis. Old people, teenagers, nice people, and people who are not so nice. More than often you get the people who are not as nice as others.
I walk up to certain tables, and greet them (always with a smile) most of the time people will just ignore my greeting and tell me what they want to drink without even looking up from their menu. When I come back to take their orders, I usually get talked to with disrespect and sarcasm. I get treated like I'm a servant, and that I'm beneath people sometimes. And in the end, when it comes down to pay, the tip is barely even worth writing down. IT AGGRAVATES me people! I just don't understand how one person can treat other complete strangers with disrespect and lack of caring.
One thing that I need to keep in mind on a daily basis, and that is to remember that when I work , I need to work for the Lord. When Jesus found his disciples, He humbled himself to wash their feet. Think about that, the Savior of the world washing the feet of average men. When we choose to follow Christ, we are called to serve others. Serving in every way. The Bible tells us that everything we do we should to as if doing it for the Lord. Something I need to keep in mind. To treat everyone I wait on at my job, as if I was serving the Lord Himself. IF I do that, then my job and everything else in life wouldn't be so horrible. Serving the Lord means serving others.

Would You Pass The BATH TUB TEST?
It doesn't hurt to take a good hard look at yourself from time to time, and this should help you get started.
During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the director to explain the criteria which defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalised.
"Well" said the Director, "we fill a bathtub with water, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.
"Oh, I understand, " said the visitor. " A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup, and would empty the bathtub much faster.
"No." said the director. "A normal person would just pull out the plug."
"Do you want a bed near the window.?"
Hope you passed.

A Good Roll
Astronomy Dog
Gigantic Jets Over Oklahoma
Have you ever seen a gigantic jet? They are extremely rare but tremendously powerful. Gigantic jets are a newly discovered type of lightning discharge between some thunderstorms and the Earth's ionosphere high above them. Pictured in the link below is a video of one such jet caught by accident by a meteor camera in Oklahoma, USA. The gigantic jet, at the lower left, traversed perhaps 70 kilometers in just under one second. Clicking on the image will bring up a movie in many browsers, also visible here. Gigantic jets are much different from regular cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning. The bottoms of gigantic jets appear similar in appearance to another type cloud-to-ionosphere strike called blue jets, while the tops appear similar to upper-atmosphere red sprites. Although the mechanism and trigger that causes gigantic jets is a topic of research, it is clear that the jets reduce charge imbalance between different parts of Earth's atmosphere. A good way to look for gigantic jets is to watch a powerful but distant thunderstorm from a clear location.

Things You Can Learn From A Dog
- Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
- Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
- When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
- Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
- Take naps and stretch before rising.
- Run, romp and play daily.
- Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
- Be loyal.
- Never pretend to be something you're not.
- If you stare at someone long enough, eventually you'll get what you want.
- Don't go out without ID.
- Be aware of when to hold your tongue, and when to use it.
- Leave room in your schedule for a good nap.
- When you do something wrong, always take responsibility(as soon as you're dragged shamefully out from under the bed).
- If it's not wet and sloppy, it's not a real kiss.
- If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
- When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
- Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
- Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
- On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
- When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
- No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.
- Delight in the simple joys of a long walk.
Smile!
